Understanding your skin

A consultation brings together your skin history, current routine and recent treatments. This provides the starting point for selecting a comfortable facial appointment and suitable skin-care products.
The principles of facial care
Basic facial skin care centers on gentle cleansing, appropriate hydration and protecting the skin barrier. The aim is to support a comfortable, manageable routine rather than adding many products at once.
Your individual appointment plan identifies the steps and products appropriate to your skin. Microneedling, acupuncture and electrical techniques belong to separate services and are included only when specifically planned.

Ask us to confirm network participation, deductibles, copays or coinsurance, visit limits, referral or authorization requirements and any expected out-of-pocket cost. Benefit verification is not a guarantee of payment. Massage benefits can differ from acupuncture or physical therapy benefits.
Employer and NYSHIP plan enquiries
Some employer-sponsored plans offered through Chase, Point72, Bank of America, Soros Fund Management may include acupuncture or physical therapy benefits. NYSHIP’s Empire Plan may also include benefits. Ask us to check your current individual plan before booking; an employer or plan name alone does not establish coverage.

Skin care beyond the appointment
Consistent home care matters between visits. Gentle cleansing, a suitable moisturizer and sun protection provide a useful foundation. Introducing active ingredients gradually can make it easier to identify irritation.
A facial appointment can also be a chance to simplify an overcomplicated routine and review which products fit your preferences and tolerance. Product choice is based on the skin’s needs rather than the length of the routine.
Preparing for a facial
Bring the names of your current products and mention allergies, medicines and recent cosmetic procedures. An active infection, persistent rash or changing skin lesion needs appropriate medical assessment before cosmetic care.

Is a facial the same as microneedling?
A facial skin-care appointment and microneedling are separate services. Microneedling uses needles and has a different recovery plan.
