The parts of your facial-care session

This appointment combines manual facial work, DDS microcurrent-style stimulation and body acupuncture in an individualized sequence. Manual work focuses on facial soft tissues and muscle tension; it does not reposition facial bones.

Body acupuncture is selected using the broader traditional Chinese medicine assessment. Each part of the session has its own role, and comfort, skin condition and recent cosmetic procedures are considered when planning the combination.

Hands-on facial sculpting

Manual facial work uses controlled contact and movement over the skin and soft tissues. The emphasis is on the treatment experience, areas of tension and a refreshed appearance, with pressure adjusted for facial sensitivity.

Hands-on care works with soft tissues; it does not reshape facial bones. Recent cosmetic procedures, irritation and easy bruising are considered before facial treatment.

The DDS component

The DDS component introduces electrical stimulation as part of the facial-care sequence. Electrical stimulation can produce sensations or muscle activity depending on the application. Contact and intensity are adapted to the treatment area and comfort.

The session is planned as a combination of distinct techniques, so preparation takes account of both skin care and electrical treatment.

A traditional whole-person approach

Body acupuncture uses fine needles at selected points away from or alongside the area of concern. In traditional Chinese medicine, point selection follows concepts of Qi, meridians and balance.

Within this traditional framework, the consultation considers wellbeing, sleep and daily habits as well as appearance goals. The selection of points and hands-on techniques is individualized.

Preparation and aftercare

Your visit includes a review of skin history, medicines, recent procedures and relevant medical conditions. Pregnancy and implanted electronic devices are important considerations before electrical treatment. Needle-related soreness, bruising or minor bleeding can occur.

Aftercare centers on gentle skin care and following the instructions for the techniques used. Skin response and progress are reviewed before further treatment is planned.
